OTC onboarding establishes whether the desk can support the client and proposed transaction. Required information depends on the client, entity and trade. Ask the provider to explain its process before sending documents or funding a transaction.

What belongs in the first enquiry?

Describe the asset, buy or sell direction, approximate amount and desired timing. State whether you are acting personally or for a business, and mention any settlement or authorisation requirements.

This gives the team a starting point without putting sensitive documents into a general enquiry. An enquiry is not an accepted quote or an instruction to transfer funds.

What information might the desk need?

The desk may need to establish your identity, location and authority to act. For an entity, it can require business information and details of the relevant people. The exact requirements must come from the provider’s approved onboarding process.

Ask what documents are required, how to submit them and how to confirm the channel is genuine. Do not assume a document list from another exchange applies to Lumora.

How do business approvals fit?

Identify who can discuss the trade and who can accept a quote. If the business uses an internal approval process, explain its timing. Confirm the permitted funding arrangements and the records needed for reconciliation.

Have the entity and transaction reviewed against the desk’s eligibility requirements before treating onboarding as complete. A person having an account elsewhere does not establish eligibility for another provider’s service.

How should you handle sensitive information?

  • Use the approved verification channel.
  • Confirm unexpected document requests with your known contact.
  • Keep passwords, seed phrases and private keys private.
  • Do not put identity documents or bank details into a first website brief.
  • Review the applicable privacy and service terms.

Our preview enquiry tool keeps the prepared brief on the page. It does not send documents, complete verification or open a trading account.

What can you do next?

Prepare the proposed trade details, or use Lumora’s existing registration portal. Registration does not itself confirm that a proposed trade is eligible or executable.

Before proceeding, our team must confirm eligibility and the applicable onboarding and trade terms. Read the OTC process to see where a quote and settlement fit.
