An AUD OTC enquiry should state that you want to pay or receive Australian dollars. Confirm the settlement currency and total AUD amount, then agree the banking and asset transfer arrangements. A price displayed in another currency is not an AUD quote.
Which amount is fixed?
Tell the desk whether you have a fixed AUD budget or a fixed asset quantity. For a purchase within a budget, clarify whether that budget includes all costs. For a sale, ask for the net AUD amount receivable under the quoted terms.
If another currency is involved, ask how conversion is priced and whether costs are included. Comparing the unit price alone can overlook that difference.
What should you confirm with your bank?
Check applicable transfer limits and whether your bank needs additional information. A real-time payment system does not establish that a particular transaction will pass the bank’s checks or reach the receiving account immediately.
Australia’s New Payments Platform enables real-time payments between participating institutions. Your specific transfer still depends on the service used, account arrangements and relevant processing or checks. Confirm the expected funding path rather than promising a universal settlement time.
Which payment instructions matter?
- The approved beneficiary and account details.
- The exact AUD amount and payment reference.
- The permitted sending account.
- The funding deadline and receipt confirmation.
- What to do if a payment is delayed.
Verify any changed instruction through a previously trusted channel. Do not use bank details from an unexpected message without confirmation.
What about the digital asset side?
Confirm where the asset is delivered or funded, which network is used and what constitutes completion. Receiving AUD and receiving an asset are separate parts of the agreed settlement process.
For a stablecoin transaction, be explicit about the token and network. A US-dollar reference does not make the token an Australian-dollar balance. Read the stablecoin guide for the distinction.
How do you discuss an AUD trade with Lumora?
Include your direction, asset, quantity or AUD budget and preferred timing in an enquiry. Our team will confirm whether the proposed asset, AUD settlement arrangement and client can be supported.
Company registration does not itself describe every available service or regulatory protection. Confirm the entity, applicable terms and eligibility for your transaction.
